We can't reward lions with peanuts.

Following a huge response to our campaign Don't Short Change Our Troops: Fair Pay for Our Armed Forces local MP Sir Alan Beith is working with Nick Clegg, Leader of the Liberal Democrats to call on the Government to improve the conditions of our troops.

"Liberal Democrats believe that we must take action now to restore the military covenant between the Armed Forces and the people. As a fundamental part of this we would put service personnel and their welfare at the heart of defence policy," says Nick Clegg.
