Cancer centre visit for MP Beith

Sir Alan Beith MP visits Northern Centre for Cancer Care

Sir Alan Beith MP with Dr Tony Branson, Clinical Director of NCCC, and Mrs Pat Haselhurst, a constituent who is a hard-working campaigner for Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

The Rt Hon Sir Alan Beith, Liberal Democrat MP for Berwick-upon-Tweed, paid a visit to the Northern Centre for Cancer Care at Freeman Hospital in Newcastle recently to tour the department and take a look at the facilities and state of the art equipment in this new purpose built centre.

The centre became fully operational in March after the transfer of cancer care facilities from Newcastle General Hospital.

Sir Alan's visit came about through Mrs Pat Haselhurst, a tireless Breakthrough Breast Cancer campaigner and a constituent of Sir Alan's.
