Summer Celebration for Lib Dems

The Liberal Democrats are holding a Grand Anniversary Ball to celebrate Alan Beith's thirty-five years as the Member of Parliament for Berwick-upon-Tweed. The Ball, which takes place on Saturday 28 June 2008, is being held in the Alnwick Garden and promises to be a very special evening. Guests will enjoy the wonderful setting of the Alnwick Garden, a four course meal with wine, music and dancing to "The Night Rhythms".

Chair of the Berwick-upon-Tweed Constituency Liberal Democrats, Jan Robotham, said

"The Ball promises to be a very enjoyable evening and the chance to catch up with old friends - some of whom helped at the 1973 by-election when Alan Beith was first elected - as well as new ones.

"We are looking forward to welcoming people from all across the country - and even some from the United States - but the majority of tickets have been sold to local people who are really looking forward to a wonderful evening.

"It will also be a great opportunity for many of our members, supporters and friends to celebrate Liberal Democrat successes at the recent elections for the new unitary authority for Northumberland."
