Major Climate Change Survey Launched Across The North East

12.00.00pm GMT Mon 28th Jan 2008

Fiona Hall, Liberal Democrat Energy Spokesperson in Europe, has launched a major survey on climate change to be rolled out across the North East over the coming weeks.

Following on from the success of last year's environment survey, this year's questionnaire on climate change is being spread more widely and is to be delivered to over 50,000 homes. It is expected that it will give the most comprehensive picture to date of the North East's attitudes and activity on climate change.

The survey has been drawn up by Fiona Hall, Liberal Democrat MEP, and is being distributed by Liberal Democrats across the region.

Commenting on the launch, Fiona Hall said:

"I am delighted to be able to announce the roll-out of the 2008 Climate Change Survey.

"This survey is not only designed as a tool for feedback and analysis. It is also written to communicate the importance of the struggle for a better environment and to raise awareness of the simple and easy changes people can make to do their bit to lower carbon emissions.

"It is my hope that this questionnaire will provide us with the data to enable us to identify how we can communicate better and what additional services we can provide in order to facilitate people's efforts on recycling, reducing their carbon emissions and improving energy efficiency.

"The survey is only nine multiple-choice questions long and takes only a few minutes to complete. Returning the form is also easy as a freepost address has been provided.

"I'm really looking forward to the surveys being returned so that I can see what changes we can make to the way we approach the issue of climate change in our region."
