Shadow Environment Secretary Chris Huhne to visit Berwick constituency

The Shadow Environment Secretary for the Liberal Democrats, Chris Huhne MP, is to visit the Berwick-upon-Tweed constituency on Saturday 28th October 2006. Mr Huhne hopes to meet farmers in the Rothbury area and a delegation from Northumbrian Water before speaking at the Berwick Lib Dems' annual dinner in Alnwick.

"Chris Huhne is a former economist and journalist and served as a Member of the European Parliament before taking his seat in Westminster, representing Eastleigh. He is very well informed but is always keen to hear from people who are directly affected by government policies such as farmers. As the lead spokesman on our environmental policies he has been heavily involved in the development of new policies which were debated at our party conference in Brighton. I look forward to welcoming him to the Berwick constituency."
