Alan Beith has reacted angrily to suggestions that the Labour government wants to privatize Search and Rescue services, including the Sea Kings at RAF Boulmer.
"This is a deplorable suggestion. It is also completely unnecessary.
"Privatisation would put at risk the high level of skills which the RAF aircrew bring to Search and Rescue.
"The service is also hugely valued and generates an immense level of support for the RAF in the community."
